1 | WHEREAS, The Rhode Island Manufacturers Association (RIMA) serves as the unified |
2 | voice of more than 1,600 manufacturers across the Ocean State, advocating at the federal, state, |
3 | and local levels for policies that strengthen and grow the manufacturing sector; and |
4 | WHEREAS, Manufacturing remains a critical component of Rhode Island’s economy, |
5 | employing tens of thousands of residents and providing high-quality, high-wage career |
6 | opportunities across a diverse range of industries; and |
7 | WHEREAS, RIMA plays a vital role in promoting economic growth by supporting a |
8 | competitive business climate, fostering collaboration among manufacturers, and connecting |
9 | businesses with resources necessary to innovate, expand, and succeed; and |
10 | WHEREAS, Through its advocacy and leadership, RIMA works to reduce regulatory |
11 | burdens, promote fair and predictable policies, and ensure that manufacturing continues to serve |
12 | as a driving force—an “economic engine”—for Rhode Island’s prosperity and global |
13 | competitiveness; and |
14 | WHEREAS, RIMA supports workforce development initiatives and educational |
15 | partnerships to cultivate the next generation of skilled workers, ensuring that Rhode Island |
16 | manufacturers remain competitive in an evolving global economy; and |
17 | WHEREAS, RIMA has also partnered with state agencies and industry leaders to |
18 | advance sustainability and innovation, including participation in programs recognizing |
19 | environmentally responsible manufacturing practices; and |

1 | WHEREAS, The Rhode Island Manufacturers Association continues to strengthen |
2 | communities throughout the state by supporting small and large businesses alike, encouraging job |
3 | creation, and promoting the long-standing tradition of manufacturing excellence in Rhode Island; |
4 | now, therefore be it |
5 | RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island hereby proclaims April 16, |
6 | 2026, as "Rhode Island Manufacturers Association Recognition Day" in the State of Rhode |
7 | Island; and be it further |
8 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
9 | transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to the Rhode Island Manufacturers Association. |
