CONGRATULATING WARWICK POLICE DEPARTMENT CHIEF COLONEL BRADFORD | |
CONNOR ON HIS FORTHCOMING RETIREMENT ON JUNE 29, 2025, AFTER MORE | |
THAN 27 YEARS OF EXEMPLARY SERVICE TO THE CITY OF WARWICK | |

1 | WHEREAS, Warwick Police Chief Colonel Bradford Connor began his distinguished |
2 | law enforcement public service career in 1996 when he joined the Warwick Police Department. |
3 | Chief Connor served most of his tenure in the police department as a member of the Community |
4 | Services Division, beginning as a Community Police Officer where he worked closely with |
5 | community groups to improve quality of life issues, and later as the Officer in charge of the |
6 | Division; and |
7 | WHEREAS, Thanks to his tireless work ethic, strong leadership and communication |
8 | skills, and his abiding integrity, Chief Connor steadily rose through the ranks that culminated in |
9 | his first tenure with the Warwick Police Department with assignments in the Patrol Division, |
10 | Detective Division, and Professional Standards Division. He also served on the Department’s |
11 | Special Weapons and Tactics Team as the Team Commander, and concluded his first tenure with |
12 | the Department at the rank of Deputy Police Chief shortly after serving as the Commander of the |
13 | Operations and Administrative Bureaus, before retiring from the Department in 2019; and |
14 | WHEREAS, In 2019, Chief Connor accepted a position to serve as the Director of |
15 | Security at Women & Infants Hospital where he was a key part of the Incident and Command |
16 | Team that assisted the hospital in navigating through the COVID-19 pandemic; and |
17 | WHEREAS, In 2021, Chief Connor returned to the Warwick Police Department when he |
18 | agreed to serve as the Department’s Police Chief. Chief Connor’s tenure as Police Chief has been |
19 | marked by his unwavering commitment to public service, and the people of Warwick. His |

1 | leadership has earned high praise, respect and admiration both within the City of Warwick and |
2 | throughout the State of Rhode Island; and |
3 | WHEREAS, Warwick Police Chief Bradford Connor attended St. Anselm College where |
4 | he attained a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. Chief Connor is married to Carla, who serves |
5 | as a Detective on the Providence Police Department. Chief Connor was a former Rhode Island |
6 | Police Chiefs Association President and board member. He also serves on the Board of Directors |
7 | for the Boys and Girls Club of Warwick; now, therefore be it |
8 | RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island hereby congratulates |
9 | Warwick Police Chief Colonel Bradford Connor on his forthcoming retirement from the Warwick |
10 | Police Department on June 29, 2025. We furthermore thank him for his more than 27 years of |
11 | distinguished and devoted public service as a law enforcement officer; and be it further |
12 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
13 | transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Warwick Police Chief, Colonel Bradford |
14 | Connor. |
