S E N A T E   R E S O L U T I O N

EXPRESSING DEEPEST CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF YOLANDA CACERES

DE LEONARDO

     WHEREAS, It is with deep sadness that this Senate has learned of the passing of Yolanda

Caceres de Leonardo. Born on February 24, 1949, in Ojo de Agua Salcedo, Dominican Republic,

she was the devoted wife of the late Agustin Leonardo; and

     WHEREAS, Mrs. Leonardo was a hard-working woman who strove daily to provide for

her family and loved ones, while at the same time creating and maintaining a warm, loving and

nurturing home. Mrs. Leonardo was a dedicated Nursing Assistant, childcare provider with more

than twenty years of providing exemplary services to the children under her care, and their

families; and

     WHEREAS, In her free time, Mrs. Leonardo enjoyed knitting, making clothing,

tablecloths and swimwear. She was also a devoted Christian who cared deeply about people and

worked tirelessly to make the community around her a better place in which to live, work and

play; and

     WHEREAS, Yolanda Caceres de Leonardo leaves behind, her children Elvis Caceres,

Wanda Leonardo Caceres, and was the step-mother of our colleague, the Honorable Rhode Island

State Senator Ana B. Leonardo Quezada. She also leaves behind her siblings Ramon Siri, Juana

Siri, Andreina Siri, and Jose Siri, as well as her fourteen grandchildren and four great-

grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her son, Eddy Leonardo; now, therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island hereby expresses its deepest

condolences on the passing of Yolanda Caceres de Leonardo; and be it further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to the Honorable Ana B. Leonardo Quezada.
