S E N A T E   R E S O L U T I O N

EXPRESSING DEEPEST CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF JOYCE JACQUES

     WHEREAS, It is with deep sadness that this Senate has learned of the passing of Joyce

2

Jacques of Mendon, Massachusetts. Mrs. Jacques was the beloved wife of the late Louis H.

3

Jacques; and

4

     WHEREAS, Joyce Jacques was born in Ogden, Utah, the daughter of the late Paul and

5

Jacquelyn Gallagher. She grew up in Norwood, Massachusetts and graduated from Norwood

6

High School in 1971; and

7

     WHEREAS, Joyce Jacques was a devoted wife and mother who strove daily to provide a

8

warm, nurturing and loving home for her family. Later in life, her desire to serve the community

9

and care for people led her to attain a nursing degree, and then proceed to work as a registered

10

nurse at Vantage Health and Rehab of Milford. She had previously worked at the Medway

11

Country Manor for many years; and

12

     WHEREAS, In her free time, she and her husband Louis enjoyed doting on their children

13

and grandchildren and spending quality time together on vacations in Falmouth, Massachusetts in

14

the Summer and Naples, Florida in the Winter; and

15

     WHEREAS, Joyce Jacques is survived by her children, Jamie Fernandes, and her

16

husband, Rich, Lisa Balunas, Heather Clabbers, Danielle Mendall, Jonathan Jacques, and his wife

17

Andrea, and Sarah Hamilton, and her husband, Brent. Mrs. Jacques is also survived by her

18

grandchildren, Ava, Richie, Brielle, Ryan, Tyler, Katherine, Gage, Mason, Maddie and Jake.

19

Joyce Jacques also leaves behind her sister Patricia Cleary, and her husband, James, and was the

20

sister of the late Chris and Michael Gallagher; now, therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island hereby expresses its deepest

2

condolences to the Jacques Family on the passing of Joyce Jacques; and be it further

3

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

4

transmit a duly certified copies of this resolution to Jamie Fernandes, Lisa Balunas, Heather

5

Clabbers, Danielle Mendall, Jonathan Jacques, and Sarah Hamilton.
