CELEBRATING “Y DAY AT THE STATE HOUSE” ON APRIL 29, 2025

     WHEREAS, Based in the City of Providence, the Rhode Island YMCA Alliance is a

2

501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is dedicated to supporting and promoting the mission of all

3

YMCAs in our State, from Westerly to Newport, and Kent County to Smithfield; and

4

     WHEREAS, The organization works to strengthen YMCAs through collaboration and

5

advocacy in order to better serve our communities; and

6

     WHEREAS, On Tuesday, April 29th of 2025, staff representing all the State’s YMCAs

7

will be celebrating “Y Day at the State House” with information on the wide variety of healthy

8

programming and education offered by the various branches, to help improve the lives of young

9

people, seniors, families, and individuals; and

10

     WHEREAS, Rhode Island’s YMCAs have had a multifaceted positive impact on youth

11

development, healthy living, and social responsibility through after-school care, summer camps,

12

family events and academic enrichment and development; and

13

     WHEREAS, Rhode Island's YMCAs have had a tangible impact on the lives of

14

generations of Rhode Islanders and stand as “a beacon of hope and opportunity” for the people of

15

our State; now, therefore be it

16

     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island hereby celebrates “Y Day at

17

the State House” and thanks the staff and leadership of all our State’s YMCAs for their dedication

18

to “fostering the next generation of leaders, innovators, and changemakers” in our State; and be it

19

further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Karen Santilli, YMCA Greater Providence

2

CEO.
