1 | WHEREAS, The State of Rhode Island takes great pride in celebrating the rich Irish |
2 | heritage and traditions that have contributed to the cultural fabric of our state and nation; and |
3 | WHEREAS, St. Patrick's Day is a time-honored occasion that brings communities |
4 | together in joyous celebration, and the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade serves as a meaningful |
5 | tribute to Irish culture, history, and contributions to society; and |
6 | WHEREAS, Emily Santerre has been selected as Miss Ireland for the West Warwick St. |
7 | Patrick's Day Parade, an honor that recognizes her outstanding character, leadership, and |
8 | embodiment of Irish heritage and pride; and |
9 | WHEREAS, Emily Santerre's selection as Miss Ireland reflects her dedication to |
10 | community service, cultural appreciation, and her role as a positive representative of Irish- |
11 | American traditions; and |
12 | WHEREAS, Her participation in the parade as Miss Ireland is a testament to her |
13 | commitment to celebrating and preserving the values and spirit of the Irish community in Rhode |
14 | Island; and |
15 | WHEREAS, Emily, a distinguished member of the graduating class of 2025, has |
16 | consistently demonstrated outstanding academic achievement as a member of the National Honor |
17 | Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and the Spanish Honor Society, while also holding leadership roles |
18 | such as Treasurer in both the National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta; and |
19 | WHEREAS, Emily has excelled in athletics as a multi-sport athlete in soccer, basketball, |

1 | and track and field, serving as a team captain in each sport, achieving multiple all-division and |
2 | allĀacademic honors, and playing a key role in securing state and class championships, including |
3 | setting a school record in pole vaulting at 9'0"; now, therefore be it |
4 | RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island hereby extends its |
5 | congratulations and best wishes to Emily Santerre on this prestigious recognition and commend |
6 | her for her contributions to the community; and be it further |
7 | RESOLVED, That this Senate hereby honors and recognizes Emily Santerre for being |
8 | named Miss Ireland in the St. Patrick's Day Parade and extends sincere appreciation for her |
9 | dedication to Irish heritage and community pride; and be it further |
10 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
11 | transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Emily Santerre and her family. |
