EXPRESSING DEEPEST CONDOLENCES TO THE OZANIAN FAMILY ON THE PASSING | |

1 | WHEREAS, It is with deep sadness that this Senate of the State of Rhode Island has |
2 | learned of the passing of James W. Ozanian. He was the beloved husband of Barbara Ozanian for |
3 | 43 years; and |
4 | WHEREAS, James W. Ozanian was born in Boston, the son of Aram and Violet |
5 | Ozanian, and the brother of Alfred Ozanian and his wife, Lisanne. Mr. Ozanian was a longtime |
6 | resident of Woonsocket and a hard-working man who strove daily to provide for his family and |
7 | loved ones. Mr. Ozanian was a Postal Clerk for the United States Postal Service in Providence for |
8 | more than 32 years and served as the Past President of the American Postal Workers Union for |
9 | the State of Rhode Island; and |
10 | WHEREAS, Mr. Ozanian was a United States Navy Veteran who served our nation with |
11 | honor and distinction during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Hoel. In recognition of his service, |
12 | Mr. Ozanian received the National Defense Service Medal; and |
13 | WHEREAS, Mr. Ozanian was a member of Cercle Laurier, and a former member of the |
14 | Manville Sportsmen’s Club. In his free time, Mr. Ozanian enjoyed spending quality time with his |
15 | family, having Wednesday coffee with his close friends, and riding motorcycles with his wife, |
16 | Barbara. On one special trip, they drove cross-country on their motorcycles and a camper; and |
17 | WHEREAS, In addition to his wife, Barbara, Mr. Ozanian leaves behind his children, |
18 | Jeffrey Ozanian, Colin Ozanian, and Bobbi Ozanian, and his nine grandchildren, James Deziel, |
19 | Devin Dean and his wife, Grace, John Dean, Taitum Ozanian, and her husband, Germani Rosario, |

2 | Ozanian; now, therefore be it |
3 | RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island hereby expresses its deepest |
4 | condolences to the Family of James W. Ozanian; and be it further |
5 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
6 | transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Mrs. Barbara Ozanian and Family. |
