EXTENDING CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF CAROL A. BRIDEN | |

1 | WHEREAS, This Senate was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Carol A. Briden, |
2 | a longtime resident of the East Side of Providence, and most recently at Eastgate Nursing & |
3 | Rehabilitation Center in the City of East Providence; and |
4 | WHEREAS, Ms. Briden was born in the City of Central Falls, a daughter of the late John |
5 | Curry and Lucille Heroux, step-daughter of the late Gerard Heroux, and the sister of Darlene |
6 | Rutland, Stephanie Curry, and Shannon McGrath; and |
7 | WHEREAS, A graduate of Brown University, Ms. Briden was an accomplished writer |
8 | and artist who enjoyed photography, painting, and being part of a local writer's group; and |
9 | WHEREAS, Ms. Briden doted on her family. She was the devoted mother of David |
10 | Briden and his wife, Valerie, and James Briden and his wife, Mary. She was also blessed with |
11 | five beautiful grandchildren, Shannon Briden, Rachel Briden, Hope Briden, Andrew Briden and |
12 | Tess Briden; and |
13 | WHEREAS, In addition to artistic endeavors, Ms. Briden loved going to Newport's |
14 | Second Beach and Jazz Festival, but always foremost in her heart was her time spent with her |
15 | family particularly at Saturday night dinners and days at Colt State Park with her beloved |
16 | grandchildren; and |
17 | WHEREAS, There is no doubt that Carol Briden a loving mother, grandmother, and |
18 | friend to many, left an indelible mark on the lives of those she knew and loved, and she is dearly |
19 | missed; now, therefore be it |
20 | RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island hereby extends heartfelt |

1 | condolences on the passing of Carol A. Briden; and be it further |
2 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
3 | transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to David Briden and Family, and James Briden |
4 | and Family. |
