CONGRATULATING AND HONORING THE COMMUNITY COLLEGE OF RHODE | |
ISLAND WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TEAM FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING SUCCESS | |
DURING THE 2025-2026 SEASON | |

1 | WHEREAS, The 2025-2026 Community College of Rhode Island Women's Basketball |
2 | Team continued its remarkable run of outstanding success on the basketball court, compiling an |
3 | astounding 22-3 overall record, including a perfect 14-0 record in regional play, and attaining its |
4 | fifth consecutive NJCAA Region XXI Championship; and |
5 | WHEREAS, The Knights recent run of winning includes an incredible streak of more |
6 | than 60 consecutive victories against regional opponents, as well as five consecutive appearances |
7 | in the NJCAA Division III National Tournament; and |
8 | WHEREAS, Achieving such an exceptional level of success this past season would have |
9 | been impossible unless every player gave their all and put team needs ahead of personal goals. |
10 | The 2025-2026 Community College of Rhode Island Women’s Basketball Team had these vital |
11 | attributes in abundance, as they were led all season by the outstanding contributions of its |
12 | student-athletes, including Layla Perry, Ella Johnson, Natalyah Williams, Kellylyn Kozlin, Emma |
13 | Harding, Parisa Monteiro, Sydney Waitekus, Genesis McNeil, Meleeya Robbins, Qiana Sumner, |
14 | Emily Moran, and Charlize Romero; and |
15 | WHEREAS, The Knights were also led all season by the outstanding coaching and |
16 | leadership of Head Coach Doug Haynes. Under the guidance and direction of Coach Haynes, the |
17 | Knights program has become a model of consistency and competitive excellence. Coach Haynes |
18 | was recently named the NJCAA East District Coach of the Year for the fifth consecutive season, |
19 | an unprecedented achievement; and |

1 | WHEREAS, The outstanding student-athletes of the 2025-2026 Community College of |
2 | Rhode Island Women’s Basketball Team represent the very best of CCRI and our State, both on |
3 | and off the court, as they demonstrated at all times incredible discipline, teamwork, and |
4 | commitment to academic and personal growth; now, therefore be it |
5 | RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island hereby |
6 | heartily congratulates the Community College of Rhode Island Women’s Basketball Team for its |
7 | outstanding success during the 2025-2026 Season; and be it further |
8 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
9 | transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to the Community College of Rhode Island |
10 | Women’s Basketball Team, Head Coach Doug Haynes. |
