1 | WHEREAS, For fifty years, Thrive Behavioral Health, Inc. has played a vital role in |
2 | strengthening the health and well-being of individuals and families across the State of Rhode |
3 | Island by expanding access to high-quality, affordable behavioral health care; and |
4 | WHEREAS, Founded as Kent County Mental Health Center, Thrive Behavioral Health, |
5 | Inc. has evolved over five decades to meet the changing and increasingly complex needs of the |
6 | community, demonstrating a steadfast commitment to innovation, compassion, and service; and |
7 | WHEREAS, A defining milestone in Thrive’s history occurred in 2018, when The Kent |
8 | Center merged with Riverwood Mental Health Services, significantly enhancing its capacity to |
9 | provide integrated, comprehensive behavioral health services and expanding its reach throughout |
10 | the region; and |
11 | WHEREAS, Thrive Behavioral Health, Inc. is distinguished by its holistic, recovery- |
12 | oriented approach, providing not only clinical treatment but also critical wraparound services that |
13 | address housing, employment, and other social determinants of health, thereby removing barriers |
14 | to long-term stability and success; and |
15 | WHEREAS, In 2024, Thrive was designated as the Certified Community Behavioral |
16 | Health Clinic for Kent County, a recognition that has enabled the organization to deliver |
17 | enhanced care coordination, expand access to services, and improve outcomes for individuals |
18 | with complex behavioral health needs; and |
19 | WHEREAS, Through the dedication of its highly trained and compassionate staff, Thrive |

1 | utilizes evidence-based practices to support individuals in managing mental health and substance |
2 | use challenges, reducing unnecessary hospitalizations, and empowering clients to live |
3 | successfully within their communities; and |
4 | WHEREAS, Thrive Behavioral Health, Inc. is a founding member of Horizon Healthcare |
5 | Partners and has earned national recognition as a leader in the delivery of community-based |
6 | behavioral health services, setting a standard of excellence for others to follow; and |
7 | WHEREAS, Thrive has positively impacted thousands of lives, fostering resilience and |
8 | equipping individuals with the tools, skills, and support necessary to lead healthy, productive, and |
9 | fulfilling lives; now, therefore be it |
10 | RESOLVED, That this House of the State of Rhode Island hereby congratulates and |
11 | honors Thrive Behavioral Health on the occasion of its 50th Anniversary, and expresses its |
12 | deepest gratitude for the organization’s enduring commitment to improving the lives of Rhode |
13 | Islanders; and be it further |
14 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
15 | transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Dawn Allen, President & CEO, Thrive |
