1 | WHEREAS, The State of Rhode Island takes great pride in celebrating the rich Irish |
2 | heritage and traditions that have contributed to the cultural fabric of our state and nation; and |
3 | WHEREAS, St. Patrick’s Day is a time-honored occasion that brings communities |
4 | together in joyous celebration, and the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade serves as a meaningful |
5 | tribute to Irish culture, history, and contributions to society; and |
6 | WHEREAS, Miranda Marie Musumeci has been selected as Miss Ireland for the West |
7 | Warwick St. Patrick’s Day Parade 2026, an honor that recognizes her outstanding character, |
8 | leadership, and embodiment of Irish heritage and pride; and |
9 | WHEREAS, Miranda Marie Musumeci's selection as Miss Ireland reflects her dedication |
10 | to community service, cultural appreciation, and her role as a positive representative of Irish- |
11 | American traditions; and |
12 | WHEREAS, Her participation in the parade as Miss Ireland is a testament to her |
13 | commitment to celebrating and preserving the values and spirit of the Irish community in Rhode |
14 | Island; and |
15 | WHEREAS, Miranda is currently a student at both Coventry High School and the |
16 | Community College of Rhode Island, where she is involved in a variety of extracurricular |
17 | activities including the Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (NJROTC) program, where |
18 | she is a member of the senior staff and her responsibilities include planning and organizing large- |
19 | scale events, such as the Military Ball; and |

1 | WHEREAS, Miranda also has a passion for dance and has had the privilege of student |
2 | teaching at the Pointe Dance Studio, working with younger students. Miranda is also actively |
3 | involved at Hopkins Hill Elementary School, where she volunteers her time to assist with the |
4 | Community Learning Academy, providing support and guidance to students in need of extra |
5 | assistance. Miranda has also contributed to an anti-bullying program within the physical |
6 | education department; and |
7 | WHEREAS, Miranda’s other activities include being an active member of the St. Francis |
8 | Altar Guild, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Disabled American Veterans, and the Westwood YMCA; |
9 | now, therefore be it |
10 | RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island hereby |
11 | honors and recognizes Miranda Marie Musumeci for being named Miss Ireland in the West |
12 | Warwick St. Patrick’s Day Parade 2026 and extends sincere appreciation for her dedication to |
13 | Irish heritage and community pride; and be it further |
14 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
15 | transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Miranda Marie Musumeci. |
