COMMENDING THOSE ORGANIZATIONS THAT FOCUS ON FINANCIAL LITERACY | |
EDUCATION IN THE STATE OF RHODE ISLAND | |

1 | WHEREAS, Annually, National Credit Education Month promotes education about |
2 | financial literacy topics such as credit and the significance of responsible credit management; and |
3 | WHEREAS, National Credit Education Month encourages pioneers in credit restoration |
4 | and education, as well as banks, businesses, and organizations, to provide opportunities for |
5 | people to enhance their financial skills and access the information and tools needed to achieve a |
6 | high credit score; and |
7 | WHEREAS, During the month, organizations that provide educational resources offer |
8 | services including workshops, webinars, and seminars to help consumers learn about budgeting, |
9 | saving, debt management, credit scores, and credit reports; and |
10 | WHEREAS, National Credit Education Month reminds consumers to review their credit |
11 | reports for errors or inaccuracies and helps individuals gain access to higher loan acceptance rates |
12 | and qualifications; and |
13 | WHEREAS, During this month, individuals are encouraged to take steps to learn more |
14 | about managing credit and creating good financial habits that will ensure an excellent credit |
15 | report; now, therefore be it |
16 | RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island recognizes |
17 | March 2026 as "National Credit Education Month" and commends the many organizations that |
18 | focus on financial literacy education in the State of Rhode Island such as: RI Jump$tart Coalition, |
19 | Junior Achievement of Rhode Island, Rhode Island Financial Capability Consortium, Capital |

1 | Good Fund, Financial Literacy Youth Initiative (FLY), Navigant Credit Union, Washington |
2 | Trust, Westerly Community Credit Union, along with several others; and be it further |
3 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
4 | transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to the National Financial Educators Council. |
