H O U S E   R E S O L U T I O N

HONORING AND THANKING KATHLEEN B. JACKSON FOR HER MANY YEARS OF

SERVICE TO THE STATE OF RHODE ISLAND AND CONGRATULATING HER ON THE

OCCASION OF HER RETIREMENT

     WHEREAS, At the end of December 2025, the State of Rhode Island will be losing the

2

talents, diligence, and patience of Kathleen B. Jackson, who has served as the Human Resources

3

Administrator for the hundreds of staff members employed at the State House by the Rhode

4

Island General Assembly; and

5

     WHEREAS, With extensive experience and a strong educational background, Kathy

6

began her career with the General Assembly in Room 3 in the Office of the Joint Committee on

7

Legislative Services, on January 1st of 2011; and

8

     WHEREAS, With conscientiousness and fortitude, Kathy has implemented oversight of

9

the organizational policies and strategies related to the Assembly’s workforce, an often-herculean

10

task; and

11

     WHEREAS, Kathy and her husband, Dennis, make their home in the City of Warwick

12

and are the very proud parents of three sons, Jeffrey Jackson, Patrick Jackson, and Bryan Jackson;

13

and

14

     WHEREAS, When not at the State House, “Mimi”, as Kathy is affectionately known in

15

her family, loves to spend time baking, playing, and laughing with her four granddaughters, Riley

16

Jackson, Peyton Jackson, Vivian Jackson, and Josephine Jackson; and

17

     WHEREAS, In addition, Kathy’s artistic talents and creative flair for restoring and

18

bringing old furniture back to life demonstrate her multi-faceted abilities; and

19

     WHEREAS, Kathy’s life after the State House will surely continue at a vigorous pace,

but hopefully with a little more time for the activities and people she loves, and she will most

2

assuredly be missed by her co-workers and those she has helped throughout the years; now,

3

therefore be it

4

     RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island hereby

5

recognizes, honors, and thanks Kathy Jackson on the occasion of her retirement, and for her years

6

of steadfast service to the General Assembly and the people of the State of Rhode Island. We,

7

moreover, wish her a long, happy and healthy retirement; and be it further

8

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

9

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Kathleen Jackson.
