RECOGNIZING AND CONGRATULATING THE MEMBERS OF THE SOUTH

KINGSTOWN HIGH SCHOOL'S REBEL THEATER GROUP FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING

PERFORMANCE AT THE 3RD ANNUAL OCEAN STATE STAR AWARDS

     WHEREAS, The Ocean State Star Awards is part of the Providence Performing Arts

Center's Education initiative "which recognizes, honors, and encourages excellence in all aspects

of musical theatre performance and production among area high school students"; and

     WHEREAS, Schools within a 25-mile radius of PPAC were invited to enter a musical

performance which was then reviewed by a panel consisting of educators, theatre experts, and

industry professionals, who, based on tabulations, bestowed awards and honors to the top

productions and individuals within specific categories; and

     WHEREAS, South Kingstown High School's Rebel Theater Group's production of

"Shrek the Musical" was a standout success garnering myriad awards for the ensemble, as well as

a panoply of honors recognizing individual students for their exceptional ability and talent; and

     WHEREAS, Rebel Theater Group were winners in four categories including Outstanding

Musical, Outstanding Ensemble, Outstanding Orchestra, and Outstanding Technical

Achievement, as well as multiple wins in the individual categories including, Eloise Stabile, Sam

Cadman, and Colby Reiner for Outstanding Lead Performer, Daniel Carrao and Lillie Cote for

Outstanding Supporting Performer, Avery Beatley for Outstanding Dance Performer, Ryan Muir

for Outstanding Director and Outstanding Music Director, Chelsea Cook and Holden Wemhoff

for Outstanding Choreographer, Matilda Fillion and Jasper Ricci for Outstanding Stage Manager,

Eric Swanson and Ryan Muir for Outstanding Set Designer, Andrew Geaber for Outstanding

Lighting Designer, and Emerald City Theatricals for Outstanding Costume Designer; and

     WHEREAS, It is essential and fitting to recognize our youth and to celebrate their

accomplishments. The South Kingstown High School's Rebel Theater Group members exemplify

everything that young people can achieve, and they are truly deserving of our recognition and

praise; now, therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island hereby

congratulates members of the Rebel Theater Group on their artistic achievements at the 2024-

2025 Ocean State Star Awards. We moreover wish them much happiness and success in all their

future endeavors; and be it further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Ryan Muir, Director of the South Kingstown

High School Rebel Theater Group.
