EXTENDING CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF THE HONORABLE ROBERT G. | |

1 | WHEREAS, It is with sadness that this House learned of the passing of the Honorable |
2 | Robert G. Salisbury, the beloved father of Jennifer Hanley and her husband, Charlie, and the very |
3 | proud Papa of Allie, Audrey, and Tyler; and |
4 | WHEREAS, Known affectionately as “Bobby” by his family and friends, Mr. Salisbury |
5 | was the beloved son of the late Adele and George Salisbury, the brother of Elaine Spevock, her |
6 | husband, Jim, and the brother of the late Patricia Quaglia and her husband, Michael. He was also |
7 | “Uncle Bob” to his many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews, and is survived by his |
8 | former wife, Kathleen Joyce, and his former wife, Sandra Salisbury and her son, Charles, and his |
9 | extended family in Arizona; and |
10 | WHEREAS, The Honorable Robert Salisbury’s life was “defined by service, generosity, |
11 | and love for his family and community.” He served as a Central Falls firefighter from 1972 |
12 | through 1986, and in 1979, purchased the Roundhouse Tavern, where he built not only the |
13 | business, but a sense of community and myriad enduring friendships; and |
14 | WHEREAS, In November of 1988, Mr. Salisbury was elected to the Rhode Island House |
15 | of Representatives in District 72, which encompassed neighborhoods in the City of Pawtucket |
16 | and the Town of Lincoln. He served his constituency with earnest devotion in January of 1989 |
17 | through early January of 1991; and |
18 | WHEREAS, There is no doubt that the Honorable Robert Salisbury, a dedicated and |
19 | steadfast gentleman, enriched the lives of all who knew and loved him, and he is dearly missed; |

2 | RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island hereby |
3 | extends deepest condolences and sympathy to the family and friends of the Honorable Robert G. |
4 | Salisbury; and be it further |
5 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
6 | transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Jennifer Hanley and Family. |
