It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Title 42 of the General Laws entitled "STATE AFFAIRS AND |
2 | GOVERNMENT" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following chapter: |
3 | CHAPTER 167 |
4 | STATE-OWNED AND OPERATED PRINTING FACILITIES PREFERENCE ACT |
5 | 42-167-1. Short title. |
6 | This chapter shall be known and may be cited as “State-Owned and Operated Printing |
7 | Facilities Preference”. |
8 | 42-167-2. Use of state-owned/operated printing facilities. |
9 | Any state agency, state institution of higher education, and quasi-public agency which |
10 | engages in the printing of more than fifty (50) copies of a contract, publication, brochure, mail |
11 | piece, notice, and/or promotional material shall use an existing state-owned/operated print |
12 | shop/facility as long as said state-owned/operated print shop/facility is capable of processing and |
13 | manufacturing the aforementioned materials. |
14 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |

2 | quasi-public agency that engages in printing more than fifty (50) copies of a contract, publication, |
3 | brochure, notice, or promotional material, to use a state-owned or operated print shop capable of |
4 | processing the material. |
5 | This act would take effect upon passage. |
