EXPRESSING DEEPEST CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF ANTHONY EUGENE | |

1 | WHEREAS, It is with deep sadness that this House has learned of the passing of Anthony |
2 | Eugene Piccirilli. Mr. Piccirilli was the beloved husband of Linda Piccirilli; and |
3 | WHEREAS, Anthony Eugene “Peachie” Piccirilli was born in Providence, the son of the |
4 | late Eugene and Esta Piccirilli. He resided for many years in Narragansett. Mr. Piccirilli |
5 | graduated from Mount Pleasant High School and attained a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice |
6 | from Roger Williams University; and |
7 | WHEREAS, Mr. Piccirilli was a devoted public servant who served the State of Rhode |
8 | Island with distinction and abiding integrity as a Deputy Clerk with the Rhode Island State |
9 | Superior Court for 35 years. Mr. Piccirilli also served as a Union Officer for the Laborers’ |
10 | International Union Local 808; and |
11 | WHEREAS, Mr. Piccirilli was very proud of his Italian-American heritage and served as |
12 | an active member of the Order Sons of Italy, Verrazzano Committee, the St. Mary’s Feast |
13 | Society, Rosario Society, and the Italian-American War Veterans of the United States, where he |
14 | served as the National Commander; and |
15 | WHEREAS, In his free time, Mr. Piccirilli enjoyed football and served as a football |
16 | coach and President for the Washington County Raiders for two decades. Mr. Piccirilli was also |
17 | actively involved in the RI Preteen Football Association, and took great joy in serving the |
18 | community, and young people in particular. Mr. Piccirilli was a big sports fan and enjoyed |
19 | playing golf and watching his beloved New York Yankees and New York Giants; and |

1 | WHEREAS, First and foremost in Mr. Piccirilli’s life was always his family and loved |
2 | ones, and throughout his life he worked tirelessly to provide for them as well as offering them |
3 | love and guidance on a daily basis; and |
4 | WHEREAS, In addition to his wife, Linda, Mr. Piccirilli leaves behind his children, |
5 | Anthony E. Piccirilli, Jr., and his wife, Marci, and David Piccirilli and his loving girlfriend, |
6 | Heather Moran, as well as his granddaughter, Lucia Piccirilli. He also leaves behind his sister, |
7 | Eileen Magnani, and her late husband, Joseph, nieces, Jamie Sroczynski and her husband, |
8 | Michael, and Jodi Manca and her husband, Andrew, and his great-nephews, Colton and Charlie; |
9 | now, therefore be it |
10 | RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island hereby |
11 | expresses its deepest condolences on the passing of Anthony Eugene Piccirilli; and be it further |
12 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
13 | transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Linda Piccirilli and Family. |
