EXPRESSING DEEPEST CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF WARREN D. COLE | |

1 | WHEREAS, It is with deepest condolences that this House of Representatives has |
2 | learned of the passing of Warren D. Cole. Mr. Cole was the beloved husband of the late Barbara |
3 | A. Cole and the fiancé of Lori Brierly; and |
4 | WHEREAS, Warren was born in Providence, a son of the late H. Warren and Margaret |
5 | Cole. Mr. Cole was a hard-working man who strove daily to provide for his family and loved |
6 | ones. He worked as a rigger for General Dynamics Electric Boat, Quonset, for Offshore Oil Rig |
7 | Western Oceanic Shell Oil, and for General Dynamics Electric Boat, Groton; and |
8 | WHEREAS, Mr. Cole was a member of the RI Greyhound Owner's Association-Twin |
9 | Rivers, the Pawtuxet Athletic Club, and the East Greenwich Fireman's Association. He also won |
10 | the 1990 Topsfield Fair Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off with "Big Wally" weighing 920 pounds, an |
11 | achievement he was very proud of accomplishing; and |
12 | WHEREAS, Warren Cole was a man of deep faith and was an active member of the |
13 | Asbury United Methodist Church in Warwick. Mr. Cole was a member of the United States Army |
14 | and served our nation with honor and distinction He also often played "Taps" on the trumpet |
15 | honoring the veterans being buried at the RI Veterans Cemetery; and |
16 | WHEREAS, Warren Cole leaves behind his sister, Nancy Marion, his niece Kate Andrew |
17 | and his nephew Eric Brown. Mr. Cole is also survived by his stepdaughter, Anastacia Conti, three |
18 | step-grandsons, John and Ron Wright, and Steve Dobson, and one step-great granddaughter Eliza |
19 | Conti; now, therefore be it |
20 | RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island hereby |

1 | expresses its deepest condolences on the passing of Warren D. Cole; and be it further |
2 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized to transmit duly |
3 | certified copies of this resolution to Lori Brierly and Nancy Marion. |
