AMENDING THE RULES OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES FOR THE YEARS | |

1 | RESOLVED, That the rules of the House of Representatives adopted by the House of |
2 | Representatives at its January session, A.D. 2023, entitled "House Resolution Adopting Rules of |
3 | the House of Representatives for the years 2023 and 2024", be and the same is hereby amended |
4 | by adding the following new rule thereto: |
5 | Legislative Grants |
6 | (49) All appropriations of legislative grants contained in the budget bill shall be divided |
7 | and appropriated by amount between the Senate and the House of Representatives. Any amount |
8 | of legislative grants appropriated and allocated to the Senate shall be distributed in accordance |
9 | with Senate rules or another method adopted by the Senate. |
10 | Any amounts of legislative grants appropriated and allocated to the House of |
11 | Representative shall be equally divided among the seventy-five (75) legislative districts, and the |
12 | budget bill shall provide that each member may direct the distribution of the legislative grant |
13 | intended for the district which such member represents by written communication to the Speaker |
14 | of the House between July 1 and September 30 of each budget year. |
