S E N A T E   R E S O L U T I O N

CONGRATULATING JIM HOYT ON BEING HONORED WITH THE 2024 BOYS & GIRLS

CLUB OF AMERICA'S "MASTERS AND MENTORS AWARD"

     WHEREAS, The Boys & Girls Club of America’s Masters and Mentors award is one of

the highest honors bestowed on Boys & Girls Club professionals, and “was created to recognize

and honor exceptional professionals who dedicate their lives to Clubs, have been integral to the

success of the Boys & Girls Club Movement, and have shown a commitment to professional

growth and excellence”; and

     WHEREAS, The 2024 recipient of this prestigious award is Jim Hoyt, who has been

dedicated to and employed at the Boys & Girls Club of Pawtucket for 48 years, and has served as

the organization’s CEO for more than twenty years; and

     WHEREAS, Always putting the children first, Mr. Hoyt has been a mentor and served as

a role model for thousands of young people as well as myriad professionals with the Boys & Girls

Club, and his leadership has earned him the trust and respect of the Board of Directors, Trustees,

donors, staff and members; and

     WHEREAS, Throughout his tenure at the Boys and Girls Club, Mr. Hoyt has always

been accessible and approachable, whether in the games room getting to know members, playing

games or asking the children about their day, or in the administrative office, he exudes a warm,

welcoming and supportive attitude and environment; and

     WHEREAS, By both word and example, Jim Hoyt is truly an inspiration and a paradigm

of dedication and commitment to young people and the community. He has bestowed almost five

decades of service and leadership to the Boys & Girls Club of Pawtucket, and he is eminently

worthy of our praise and acknowledgement; now, therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island hereby congratulates and

applauds Jim Hoyt on being honored with the 2024 Boys & Girls Club of America’s “Masters

and Mentors Award”. We can think of no one who deserves this distinction more than Mr. Hoyt

and wish him the very best of health and happiness in all his endeavors; and be it further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Mr. Jim Hoyt.
