EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF KATHERINE LOCKWOOD | |

1 | WHEREAS, It is with deep sadness that this Senate has learned of the passing of |
2 | Katherine Lockwood Hayslip of Cumberland; and |
3 | WHEREAS, Raised in New Rochelle, New York, Ms. Hayslip was the daughter of |
4 | George Lockwood and Katherine Morris. She graduated from Abbot Academy in Andover, |
5 | Massachusetts, and Wellesley College. She continued her studies at the University of Munich for |
6 | a year, and later received a Master's degree in Library Science from Columbia University. Shortly |
7 | thereafter, she accepted a position as a cataloger at Brown University; and |
8 | WHEREAS, Ms. Hayslip was married to Edwin and was the loving mother of Noah. She |
9 | lived in Cumberland and created a warm, loving and nurturing home and welcomed many good |
10 | friends through the years; and |
11 | WHEREAS, Katherine Lockwood Hayslip was an accomplished professional woman and |
12 | a loving and devoted daughter, sibling, and mother. She was a beacon of happiness and joy that |
13 | shined brightly within the lives of her loved ones and many friends; now, therefore be it |
14 | RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island hereby expresses its |
15 | condolences on the passing of Katherine Lockwood Hayslip; and be it further |

1 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
2 | transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Noah Hayslip and his partner, Diana Richard. |
