EXTENDING CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF TAMMY M. LAMBERTO ROY

     WHEREAS, It is with deepest sadness that this Senate has learned of the passing of

2

Tammy M. Lamberto Roy, the loving wife of Noel Roy, Jr., for fifteen years, and the cherished

3

mother of Mia Roy, Nick Roy and his wife, Melissa, and Shayne Roy; and

4

     WHEREAS, Born in the City of Woonsocket, Mrs. Roy was a daughter of Paulette

5

Lamberto, and Raymond Lamberto and his wife, Priscilla, and the sister of David Lamberto and

6

his wife, Mary Lou, Tina Gelinas and her husband, Irwin, and Sheila Leahy and her husband,

7

Steven. She was a graduate of Woonsocket High School and earned her Bachelor’s degree and a

8

Master’s degree in education from Rhode Island College; and

9

     WHEREAS, For twenty-one years, Mrs. Roy had been employed as a special education

10

teacher, beginning her career at Leo A. Savoie Elementary, and later at Globe Park Elementary.

11

In addition, she was a PASS worker for the Seven Hills Foundation until retiring in 2017; and

12

     WHEREAS, With passion, energy, and a loving personality, Mrs. Roy created a home

13

that was warm and welcoming. She doted on her family, particularly her grandchildren, Aidan

14

Lemek and Avery Roy, and Adrianna and Quincey Carter. She was also blessed with a large and

15

loving extended family including her uncles, Robert Giguere and Oliver Giguere, her aunt,

16

Gertrude Champagne, and many nieces, nephews, and many friends; and

17

     WHEREAS, Although enduring an on and off battle with cancer for two decades, Mrs.

18

Roy lived her life to the fullest. In addition to spending time with her family, who were the light

19

of her life, she enjoyed scrapbooking, going to the beach, camping, and traveling, especially to

20

Sedona in Arizona, and loved to sing and dance; and

     WHEREAS, There is no doubt that Tammy Lamberto Roy, a loving wife, mother,

2

grandmother, and friend to many, left an indelible mark on the lives of those she knew and loved,

3

and she will be dearly missed; now, therefore be it

4

     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island hereby extends deepest

5

condolences on the passing of Tammy M. Lamberto Roy; and be it further

6

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

7

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Noel Roy, Jr. and Family.
