EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF THE HONORABLE THOMAS

CONROY BOYLE

     WHEREAS, It is with deep sadness that this Senate has learned of the passing of Thomas

2

Conroy Boyle, President of the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Homes; and

3

     WHEREAS, Born and raised in Providence, Mr. Boyle was the son of the late Russell

4

and M. Rita Boyle, and the beloved husband of Helen Boyle for 46 years; and

5

     WHEREAS, Mr. Boyle grew up in the Smith Hill section of Providence and was a proud

6

graduate of LaSalle Academy and Providence College. He also attended the New England

7

Institute of Anatomy and Mortuary Sciences after which he proceeded to begin his funeral

8

director career at the Russell J. Boyle and Son Funeral Home, where he embarked on a more than

9

fifty-year career of offering kind and compassionate services to every grieving family that came

10

to him to take care of their loved ones. His warmth and sincerity at these moments of great need

11

helped so many families and he always considered it an honor and a privilege to serve these

12

families in their time of great need; and

13

     WHEREAS, Thomas Boyle was also a dedicated public servant who served the citizens

14

of Providence with tireless passion and abiding integrity as a member of the Providence City

15

Council and as a member of the Board of Licenses; and

16

     WHEREAS, Thomas Boyle was a man of deep faith who was also a devoted family man

17

and the best friend anyone could have in their lives. In his leisure activities, he enjoyed spending

18

time at the Warwick Country Club, Bonnet Shores Beach Club, and following his beloved

19

Providence College Friars basketball team; and

     WHEREAS, In addition to his wife, Helen, Mr. Boyle leaves behind his children, Sean

2

Boyle, Kathryn Magaldi and her husband, Thomas, and Edward Boyle and his wife, Kelly, and

3

his grandchildren, Thomas and Reilly Magaldi and Eleanor Boyle. He also leaves behind his

4

sister, Janet Welch and her husband, Richard, Reilly family siblings, Ann Marie and her husband,

5

Richard, Edward and his wife, Kathleen, and Kevin and his wife, Maryann, as well as numerous

6

nieces and nephews; now, therefore be it

7

     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island hereby expresses its

8

condolences on the passing Thomas Conroy Boyle; and be it further

9

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

10

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Mrs. Helen Boyle and Family.
