	EXTENDING DEEPEST CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF CYNTHIA L. ISRAEL

1	WHEREAS, It is with deep sadness that this Senate has learned of the passing of Cynthia
2	L. Israel, the loving and supportive wife of Stan Israel, former Executive Vice-President of New
3	England Health Care Employees, District 1199/SEIU, and the cherished mother of Jon Israel and
4	his wife, Christina, and Caitlin Pfanstiehl and her husband, Chris; and
5	WHEREAS, Born in Arlington, Virginia, Mrs. Israel was the beloved daughter of the late
6	William and Natalie Babé, and the sister of Susan Thomson and four children, Billy, Michael,
7	Kim and Ann; and
8	WHEREAS, With a loving personality, Mrs. Israel created and nurtured a marriage that
9	flourished, and a home that was warm and welcoming. She doted on her family, particularly her
10	grandchildren, Selma and Alara Israel and Liam Pfanstiehl, who lovingly called her “Mimi” and
11	“Grandma” and who were the light of her life; and
12	WHEREAS, In addition to her family life, Mrs. Israel had been employed as a registered
13	nurse at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital for many years before retiring; and
14	WHEREAS, Mrs. Israel also enjoyed gardening, listening to music, singing, and “taking
15	care of her beloved dogs, who were like children to her”; and
16	WHEREAS, There is no doubt that Cynthia Israel, a loving wife, mother, grandmother,
17	and friend to many, left an indelible mark on the lives of those she knew and loved, and she will
18	be dearly missed; now, therefore be it
19	RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island hereby expresses our deepest
20	sympathies on the passing of Cynthia L. Israel; and be it further

1	RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to
2	transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Stan Israel and Family.
