EXPRESSING DEEPEST CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF GERALDINE C. CARLIN | |

1 | WHEREAS, It is with deep sadness that this Senate has learned of the passing of |
2 | Geraldine Carlin, the beloved wife of John Carlin for fifty-six beautiful years, and the devoted |
3 | mother of Deborah Kent, Kelly Carlin, Kimberly Corsi, William Kent III, and John Carlin, and |
4 | stepdaughter, Doreen Carlin-Grande; and |
5 | WHEREAS, Born in Framingham, Massachusetts, "Geri", as she was affectionately |
6 | known by family and friends, was the daughter of the late John and Esther Casey, and the sister of |
7 | the late John Casey, Gladys Casey, Arlene Dureiko and Lorraine Teale; and |
8 | WHEREAS, Throughout the years, Mrs. Carlin had resided in Cumberland, Lincoln, |
9 | North Providence, and Fort Myers, Florida, before eventually moving back to the Town of |
10 | Lincoln seven years ago; and |
11 | WHEREAS, With a warm and loving personality, Mrs. Carlin created and nurtured a |
12 | marriage that flourished and a home that was warm and welcoming. She doted on her family, |
13 | particularly her grandchildren, our friend and colleague, Senate Majority Leader Ryan Pearson, |
14 | Darren, Sean, MacKenzie, Steven, Brittney, Casey, Shane, Tyler, Ariana, and Michaela. She had |
15 | also been blessed with five great-grandchildren; and |
16 | WHEREAS, Always and forever in her heart were her family, with sleepovers at |
17 | Grammy's home always including "countless make-believe games, cooking favorite dishes and |
18 | many laughs." She was always a sounding board and comforting figure for those she loved, and |
19 | adored teaching and sharing her love of the outdoors, the beach and the ocean with them; and |
20 | WHEREAS, In addition to making a wonderful home for her family, Mrs. Carlin had |

1 | been employed at several companies throughout the years, with her fondest memories of her time |
2 | at Hindley Manufacturing; and |
3 | WHEREAS, Geri Carlin was a compassionate and gentle soul, who found great joy in the |
4 | company of her family. Whether hosting them in Lincoln, Galilee, or Fort Myers Beach, she will |
5 | be remembered always smiling, laughing, and filled with love, and she is dearly missed; now, |
6 | therefore be it |
7 | RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island hereby expresses our deepest |
8 | sympathy on the passing of Geraldine C. Carlin; and be it further |
9 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
10 | transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to John Carlin, Deborah Kent, Kelly Carlin, |
11 | Kimberly Corsi, William Kent III, John Carlin, Doreen Carlin-Grande, and Senate Majority |
12 | Leader Ryan Pearson. |
