LICENSURE COMPACT | |

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Chapter 5-91 of the General Laws entitled "Interstate Medical Licensure |
2 | Compact [Expires July 1, 2025.]" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: |
3 | 5-91-26. Implementation. |
4 | This chapter shall be implemented and the state is hereby directed to complete all necessary |
5 | membership requirements no later than July 1, 2024. |
6 | SECTION 2. Title 23 of the General Laws entitled "HEALTH AND SAFETY" is hereby |
7 | amended by adding thereto the following chapter: |
8 | CHAPTER 100 |
9 | TELEMEDICINE AND OUT-OF-STATE MEDICINE |
10 | 23-100-1. Telemedicine and out-of-state medicine. |
11 | (a) All in-state residents shall have access to telemedicine in accordance with chapter 81 |
12 | of title 27. |
13 | (b) Patients may receive telemedicine services, including services from out-of-state |
14 | providers pursuant to chapter 91 of title 5 ("interstate medical licensure compact"). |
15 | (c) Prior to providing services under this chapter, any out-of-state medical provider shall |
16 | register with the department of health. |
17 | (d) The department of health and the office of health insurance commissioner shall |
18 | implement rules and regulations, as necessary, to carry out the provisions of this section. |
