J O I N T   R E S O L U T I O N

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO EXPAND AND SUPPORT THE GREEN ECONOMY

INITIATIVES

     

     Introduced By: Senators DiPalma, DiMario, Sosnowski, Ciccone, Felag, Murray, Britto,
Zurier, Acosta, and Bell

     RESOLVED, That there is hereby appropriated out of any money in the treasury not

2

otherwise appropriated for the fiscal year 2025, the sum of sixteen million dollars ($16,000,000)

3

to support the proposed green economy bond initiatives as set forth in Article 5 of the governor's

4

proposed budget, relating to a capital development program. These funds shall more specifically

5

be appropriated as follows:

     (1) Five million dollars ($5,000,000 ) to the agricultural land preservation committee for

7

farmland protection;

8

     (2) Five million dollars ($5,000,000) to the department of environmental management to

9

bring state open space program amounts back to historic levels;

10

     (3) Three million dollars ($3,000,000) to support the local open space program; and

11

     (4) Three million dollars ($3,000,000) to the department of environmental management,

12

division of agriculture and forest environment, to fund forests and habitat management on state

13

property. The state controller is hereby authorized and directed to draw orders upon the general

14

treasurer for the payment of said sum, or so much thereof as may be from time to time required,

15

upon receipt of properly authenticated vouchers.

     This joint resolution would authorize the appropriation of the sum of sixteen million

dollars ($16,000,000) to support the proposed green economy bond initiatives set forth in Article

5 of the governor's proposed budget, relating to a capital development program.
