EXTENDING DEEPEST CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF IRIDE MARGIE | |

1 | WHEREAS, It is with sadness that this Senate has learned of the passing of Iride Margie |
2 | Desrosiers, the beloved wife of the late Donald Desrosiers, and the devoted mother of two |
3 | children, Sandra Davis, and Donald Desrosiers and his wife, Anne. She was also blessed with one |
4 | grandson, Jamie Beaulieu and his wife, Laurie, and a great-grandson, Kyle Beaulieu; and |
5 | WHEREAS, Born in Franklin, Massachusetts, Mrs. Desrosiers was the daughter of the |
6 | late Nello and Lydia Giromini, the sister of Jeannette "Jan" Liard, and the aunt of James Liard |
7 | and his wife, Debra. She was a graduate of CCRI in Public Relations; and |
8 | WHEREAS, Mrs. Desrosiers made a wonderful home for her family. She had lived in |
9 | Woonsocket for a number of years until moving to Albion where she resided for forty years, |
10 | eventually moving back to Kennedy Manor; and |
11 | WHEREAS, For several years, Mrs. Desrosiers had been employed as a Receptionist in |
12 | the office of Dr. Leonard Staudinger. She had also worked as a Travel Show Coordinator for |
13 | Travel Experience, BV Tourism Council, and Conway Tours until retiring in 1997; and |
14 | WHEREAS, In addition to her family and work, Mrs. Desrosiers was active in the |
15 | community, serving as President and Program Chairwomen for the Providence Association of |
16 | Medical Assistants, and as Past Secretary and on the advisory board and entertainment committee |
17 | for the Social Club at Kennedy Manor. She was also active in democratic town politics; and |
18 | WHEREAS, Mrs. Desrosiers loved people and public speaking, and had been a member |
19 | of the "Vivacious Red Hatters" for 10 years. She had a special talent for organizing events for |

1 | family and friends, and had coordinated several fundraisers; and |
2 | WHEREAS, With her own special style and flare, Margie Desrosiers "always made a |
3 | statement, hair in place and make-up always." She was dearly beloved by her family and many |
4 | friends and she will be deeply missed; now, therefore be it |
5 | RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island hereby extends deepest |
6 | condolences on the passing of Iride Margie Desrosiers; and be it further |
7 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
8 | transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to Sandra Davis, and Donald Desrosiers and |
9 | Family. |
