H O U S E   R E S O L U T I O N

HONORING REPRESENTATIVE BRIANNA HENRIES FOR HER SERVICE TO THE

PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF RHODE ISLAND

Chippendale, Boylan, Cruz, Speakman, Felix, and Alzate

     WHEREAS, On November 3rd of 2020, Representative Henries was elected to the Rhode

Island House of Representatives from District 64, which encompasses neighborhoods in the cities

of East Providence and Pawtucket; and

     WHEREAS, Representative Henries is a member of the House Labor Committee, and a

member of the House Special Legislation Committee; and

     WHEREAS, Having experienced homelessness personally, Representative Henries has

been a tireless advocate for helping those Rhode Islanders who are enduring homelessness or

living with poverty, and has worked to ensure that their income does not diminish their basic

human rights; and

     WHEREAS, During her tenure at the State House, Representative Henries has sponsored

and supported legislation to expand housing availability, raise the minimum wage, ensure the

availability of affordable health care, amend the school funding formula to provide equal

opportunities to lower income school districts, and has consistently advocated for small

businesses; and

     WHEREAS, Representative Henries public service extends beyond the long hours she

spends at the State House. She volunteers her time to assist with writing and helping with various

productions at Valiant Arts Studio in Pawtucket. She is also a makeup artist and involved in

several small business ventures, including bridal services; and

     WHEREAS, The Honorable Brianna Henries attended Classical High School and is a

lifelong Rhode Islander. She and her fiancé currently make their home in the City of East

Providence with their dog, Cooper; and

     WHEREAS, Having demonstrated an unwavering commitment to her constituency,

Representative Henries may indeed reflect with great pride on her achievements as she prepares

to embark on the next chapter of her life; now, therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island hereby

honors Representative Brianna Henries for her dedicated service to the people of East Providence,

Pawtucket, and the State, and extends to her our best wishes for continued happiness and success;

and be it further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to the Honorable Brianna Henries.
