EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF THOMAS R. GALLAGHER

     WHEREAS, It is with deep sadness that this House has learned of the passing of Thomas

2

R. Gallagher of Bloomington, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52

3

years, Arlus Gallagher, and his parents, Urban and Gertrude Gallagher. He was the father of our

4

friend and colleague, Sue Stenhouse who serves as the Chief of Staff to the Rhode Island House

5

of Representatives Minority Leader; and

6

     WHEREAS, Mr. Gallagher attended the University of St. Thomas of St. Paul, Minnesota,

7

where he received a Business degree. He was a United States Navy veteran who proudly served

8

our Nation with distinction and honor; and

9

     WHEREAS, Mr. Gallagher was a devoted family man who worked tirelessly to provide

10

for his loved ones. He was a hard-working man who had a long and successful career working for

11

Lyon Chemical/Van Waters and Rogers/Univar in their sales division; and

12

     WHEREAS, Thomas Gallagher leaves behind his children, Sue Stenhouse, Nancy Black

13

and her husband, John, Lori, and Michael Gallagher and his wife, Deana. He also leaves behind

14

his grandchildren, Garrett Stenhouse, Courtney Ramirez and her husband Mike, Kevin Stenhouse

15

and his wife, Kim, Gina Landry and her husband Alex, Colleen Black, Katie Gallagher, and his

16

great-grandson, Colin Landry; and

17

     WHEREAS, Thomas Gallagher was a beacon of light that shined brightly within the lives

18

of all of his loved ones and many friends. He will be sorely missed but will live on forever in the

19

hearts and minds of all who knew and loved him; now, therefore be it

20

     RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island hereby

 

1

expresses its deepest condolences to Sue Stenhouse and the Gallagher Family on the passing of

2

Thomas Gallagher; and be it further

3

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

4

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Sue Stenhouse and the Gallagher Family.
