H O U S E   R E S O L U T I O N

EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF THOMAS R. GALLAGHER

     WHEREAS, It is with deep sadness that this House has learned of the passing of Thomas

R. Gallagher of Bloomington, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52

years, Arlus Gallagher, and his parents, Urban and Gertrude Gallagher. He was the father of our

friend and colleague, Sue Stenhouse who serves as the Chief of Staff to the Rhode Island House

of Representatives Minority Leader; and

     WHEREAS, Mr. Gallagher attended the University of St. Thomas of St. Paul, Minnesota,

where he received a Business degree. He was a United States Navy veteran who proudly served

our Nation with distinction and honor; and

     WHEREAS, Mr. Gallagher was a devoted family man who worked tirelessly to provide

for his loved ones. He was a hard-working man who had a long and successful career working for

Lyon Chemical/Van Waters and Rogers Univar in their sales division; and

     WHEREAS, Thomas Gallagher leaves behind his children, Sue Stenhouse and her

husband, Michael Quinn, Nancy Black and her husband, John, Lori, and Michael Gallagher and

his wife, Deana. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Garrett Stenhouse and his wife,

Courtney, Courtney Ramirez and her husband Mike, Kevin Stenhouse and his wife, Kim, Gina

Landry and her husband Alex, Colleen Black, Katie Gallagher, and his great-grandson, Colin

Landry; and

     WHEREAS, Thomas Gallagher Jr., was a beacon of light that shined brightly within the

lives of all of his loved ones and many friends. He will be sorely missed but will live on forever

in the hearts and minds of all who knew and loved him; now, therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island hereby

expresses its deepest condolences to Sue Stenhouse and the Gallagher Family on the passing of

Michael Gallagher, Jr., and be it further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Sue Stenhouse and the Gallagher Family.
