EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF THOMAS R. GALLAGHER | |

1 | WHEREAS, It is with deep sadness that this House has learned of the passing of Thomas |
2 | R. Gallagher of Bloomington, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 |
3 | years, Arlus Gallagher, and his parents, Urban and Gertrude Gallagher. He was the father of our |
4 | friend and colleague, Sue Stenhouse who serves as the Chief of Staff to the Rhode Island House |
5 | of Representatives Minority Leader; and |
6 | WHEREAS, Mr. Gallagher attended the University of St. Thomas of St. Paul, Minnesota, |
7 | where he received a Business degree. He was a United States Navy veteran who proudly served |
8 | our Nation with distinction and honor; and |
9 | WHEREAS, Mr. Gallagher was a devoted family man who worked tirelessly to provide |
10 | for his loved ones. He was a hard-working man who had a long and successful career working for |
11 | Lyon Chemical/Van Waters and Rogers Univar in their sales division; and |
12 | WHEREAS, Thomas Gallagher leaves behind his children, Sue Stenhouse and her |
13 | husband, Michael Quinn, Nancy Black and her husband, John, Lori, and Michael Gallagher and |
14 | his wife, Deana. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Garrett Stenhouse and his wife, |
15 | Courtney, Courtney Ramirez and her husband Mike, Kevin Stenhouse and his wife, Kim, Gina |
16 | Landry and her husband Alex, Colleen Black, Katie Gallagher, and his great-grandson, Colin |
17 | Landry; and |
18 | WHEREAS, Thomas Gallagher Jr., was a beacon of light that shined brightly within the |
19 | lives of all of his loved ones and many friends. He will be sorely missed but will live on forever |
20 | in the hearts and minds of all who knew and loved him; now, therefore be it |

1 | RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island hereby |
2 | expresses its deepest condolences to Sue Stenhouse and the Gallagher Family on the passing of |
3 | Michael Gallagher, Jr., and be it further |
4 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
5 | transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Sue Stenhouse and the Gallagher Family. |
