H O U S E   R E S O L U T I O N

HONORING ROBERT L. G. BATCHELOR, CPA, ON THE OCCASION OF HIS

RETIREMENT

Finkelman, Solomon, Costantino, Edwards, and Ajello

     WHEREAS, For more than five decades, Robert Batchelor has exemplified the “highest

ideals of integrity, diligence, and excellence” as both a well-respected CPA and an invaluable

member of the Rhode Island Society of CPAs/RI Business Forum (RISCPA); and

     WHEREAS, Mr. Batchelor has served the RISCPA for more than a half century earning

the gratitude and admiration of his peers for his diligent service and “unparalleled contributions to

the accounting profession” and the organization; and

     WHEREAS, An invaluable member of the RISCPA, Mr. Batchelor has served in myriad

capacities including, President (Chairman of the Board) from 1986 through 1987, and as Chair of

the Ethics Committee from 2007 until his retirement; and

     WHEREAS, Also dedicated to the community, Mr. Batchelor has served as Treasurer

and as an ex officio member of the Commission on Finance and Commission on Investments for

the Episcopal Diocese of Rhode Island, was recognized by the Bryant University 1863 Society

for his altruism, was a member of the Audit Team for Saint Elizabeth Community for seniors, and

was a Trustee at Hallworth House; and

     WHEREAS, A generous and humble man, Mr. Batchelor is a true gentleman who has

been a mentor, guide, and a true inspiration to many over the course of his illustrious career, and

he is eminently worthy of our recognition and gratitude; now, therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island hereby

honors Robert L. G. Batchelor on the occasion of his retirement and wishes him continued health

and much future happiness; and be it

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Robert L. G. Batchelor, CPA.
