It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Section 16-8-10.2 of the General Laws in Chapter 16-8 entitled "Federal Aid |
2 | [See Title 16 Chapter 97 — The Rhode Island Board of Education Act]" is hereby amended to read |
3 | as follows: |
4 | 16-8-10.2. Mandatory contract terms. |
5 | No school board or school receiving aid under this chapter for school lunch programs shall |
6 | negotiate, extend, or renew any school lunch service contract unless the contract provides for |
7 | payments to school-lunch workers and aides for one hundred and eighty (180) days or the length |
8 | of the contract for the school year, exclusive of paid time off, including vacation days, or other |
9 | forms of compensatory time off, whichever is longer. |
10 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
