CONGRATULATING THE RHODE ISLAND COLLEGE WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TEAM | |
ON THEIR OUTSTANDING SUCCESS IN THE 2023-2024 SEASON | |

1 | WHEREAS, The Rhode Island College Women's Basketball Team, led by outstanding |
2 | Head Coach Jenna Cosgrove, just completed an incredibly successful season that included |
3 | compiling a perfect regular season record, winning their fourth straight Little East Conference |
4 | regular season Championship and their fourth straight Little East Conference Tournament |
5 | Championship, and winning two games in the NCAA Division III Tournament; and |
6 | WHEREAS, The Anchorwomen were led all season by the outstanding play and |
7 | leadership provided by Graduate Guard Sophia Guerrier, who earned Little East Player of the |
8 | Year honors, First Team All-Little East honors, and was named to the Little East All-Defensive |
9 | Team, fifth-year guard Jeniyah Jones who earned Defensive Player of the Year honors, and was |
10 | named to the Second Team All-Little East Team and to the Little East All-Defensive Team, |
11 | Junior Guard Madison Medbury, who earned First Team All-Little East honors, was named to the |
12 | Little East All-Defensive Team, and was named the Most Outstanding player of the Little East |
13 | Championship, Fifth Year Forward Izabelle Booth, who was named First Team All-Little East, as |
14 | well as Junior Forward Angelina Nardolillo, who was named Second Team All-Little Sports; and |
15 | WHEREAS, Earning Little East Conference Coach of the Year honors for the fourth time |
16 | in the last five years was Jenna Cosgrove, the heralded Head Coach of the Rhode Island College |
17 | Anchorwoman. Her accomplishments during her seven-year run at Rhode Island College are |
18 | second to none, and thanks to her leadership and stellar coaching, Rhode Island College Women's |
19 | Basketball has become a force to be reckoned with locally, regionally and nationally; and |

1 | WHEREAS, Coach Jenna Cosgrove has won well over seventy percent of her games at |
2 | Rhode Island College, has won four straight Little East Regular Season and four straight Little |
3 | East Conference Tournament Championships, reached the NCAA Division III Final Four for the |
4 | first time in program history in 2023, and had a program record 29 wins in a row this season |
5 | which included a perfect record in Little East competition; and |
6 | WHEREAS, Accomplishing all of the success the Rhode Island College Women's |
7 | Basketball Team attained this season would have been impossible without having a talented and |
8 | determined group of young ladies willing each and every day to give their all for a common goal |
9 | and to always put team needs ahead of individual desires. The 2023-2024 Rhode Island College |
10 | Women's Basketball Team had those qualities in abundance as they were led all season by the |
11 | important contributions provided by Maggie McKitchen, Bailey Burke, Izabelle Booth, Olivia |
12 | Middleton, Claire Greene, Maggie Schwab, Angelina Nardolillo, Sophia Guerrier, Vanessa |
13 | Venditti, Elli Cox, Madison Medbury, Jayda Bing, Neleesha Meunier, and Jeniyah Jones, as well |
14 | as the outstanding coaching provided all season by Head Coach Jenna Cosgrove, and Assistant |
15 | Women's Basketball Coaches Derek Shanks, Meghan Reall, and Claudia DeFaria; now, therefore |
16 | be it |
17 | RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island hereby |
18 | heartily congratulates the Rhode Island College Women's Basketball Team on their outstanding |
19 | success in the 2023-2024 season; and be it further |
20 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
21 | transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Rhode Island College Women's Basketball |
22 | Head Coach Jenna Cosgrove. |
