EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF ARMAND A. TEIXEIRA, ESQ.

     WHEREAS, It is with deep sadness that this House has learned of the passing of Armand

2

A. Teixeira, Esq., the beloved husband of Ann Gancz Teixeira; and

3

     WHEREAS, Born in Pawtucket, Mr. Teixeira was the son of the late Armando and Alzira

4

Teixeira. He was very proud of his Portuguese heritage and would often speak with passion about

5

his ancestral home in Ribamondego, Gouveia, Portugal; and

6

     WHEREAS, Mr. Teixeira graduated from Cumberland High School in 1976, Roger

7

Williams University in 1980, where he served as the official college photographer, and Suffolk

8

University School of Law in Boston; and

9

     WHEREAS, For the last forty years, Mr. Teixeira had been a successful practicing

10

lawyer, widely admired throughout the community. He was licensed to practice law in all State

11

and Federal Courts in Rhode Island, Massachusetts and New Hampshire, and before the United

12

States Supreme Court. He was also a member of the Rhode Island Bar Association for several

13

years and was a fierce and tireless advocate for his clients while always conducting himself with

14

abiding integrity in all matters before the court and in his personal life; and

15

     WHEREAS, In his free time, Mr. Teixeira was a member of the East Warren Rod & Gun

16

Club and had a lifelong passion for building and fixing classic cars; and

17

     WHEREAS, In addition to his wife, Ann, Mr. Teixeira leaves behind his brothers-in-law

18

Stephen Gancz, Peter Gancz, and Frank Jacques, and his sister-in-law Nancy Jacques. He is also

19

survived by his nephew, Matthew Gancz and his wife, Jenna, and their children, Luke, Jeremiah,

20

Emmy, May and Caleb, and by many cousins and additional family members; now, therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island hereby

2

expresses its condolences on the passing of Armand A. Teixeira, Esq; and be it further

3

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

4

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Ann Gancz Teixeira and Family.
