1 | WHEREAS, It is with sadness that this Senate has learned of the passing of Guido J. |
2 | Petrosinelli, the beloved husband of Marilyn Petrosinelli for sixty years, the proud father of |
3 | Joseph Petrosinelli and his wife, Kara, and David Petrosinelli and his wife, Tanya, and the |
4 | cherished grandfather of Michael, Maria, Nicolas, and Jack; and |
5 | WHEREAS, Born and raised in the City of Providence, Mr. Petrosinelli was the devoted |
6 | son of the late John and Antonetta Petrosinelli and the beloved brother of Barbara Musselman, |
7 | Diane Spagnoli, Gail Ribaudo, Cheryl Petrosinelli, and his late brother and sister, Stephen and |
8 | Joan; and |
9 | WHEREAS, Devoted to his family, Mr. Petrosinelli left high school early in order to help |
10 | his parents build a successful food service and catering business; and |
11 | WHEREAS, In 1968, Mr. Petrosinelli purchased a Dunkin’ Donuts franchise on the |
12 | corner of Mineral Spring and Smithfield Avenues in Pawtucket, and became one of the earliest |
13 | and youngest owners in Rhode Island; and |
14 | WHEREAS, An incredibly astute and hard-working businessman, over the next five |
15 | decades Mr. Petrosinelli purchased twenty separate stores in myriad locations and was one of the |
16 | largest and most successful owners and operators of Dunkin’ franchises in the State; and |
17 | WHEREAS, In addition, Mr. Petrosinelli was a member of numerous Dunkin’ corporate |
18 | committees and was elected to the National Dunkin’ Donuts Franchise Owner Hall of Fame in |
19 | 2015, a prestigious honor granted to less than fifty people nationwide; and |

1 | WHEREAS, By generously and consistently donating a significant amount of time, |
2 | resources, and Dunkin’ products, Mr. Petrosinelli’s altruistic endeavors helped numerous |
3 | charitable organizations throughout his lifetime; and |
4 | WHEREAS, Guido Petrosinelli was a devoted family man and a consummate |
5 | businessman who built and lived the ‘American Dream’ and he will be dearly missed; now, |
6 | therefore be it |
7 | RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island hereby expresses deepest |
8 | sympathy on the passing of Guido J. Petrosinelli; and be it further |
9 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
10 | transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Mrs. Marilyn M. Petrosinelli and Family. |
