CONGRATULATING COLONEL KIMBERLEE AIELLO ON HER RETIREMENT FROM | |
THE UNITED STATES ARMY AFTER TWENTY-NINE YEARS OF DEVOTED AND | |
DISTINGUISHED SERVICE TO OUR NATION | |

1 | WHEREAS, Colonel Kimberlee “Kim” Aiello is a native Rhode Islander who was |
2 | commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army Medical Service Corps through |
3 | the Northeastern University ROTC program as a Distinguished Military Graduate. She is |
4 | currently working as the Public Market Director for Health Information Systems, 3M; and |
5 | WHEREAS, Colonel Aiello’s previous Army assignments have included serving as an |
6 | Adjutant for the 55th Medical Group, Treatment Platoon Leader, Ambulance Platoon Leader, and |
7 | Company Executive Officer for the 261st Multifunctional Medical Battalion, as an S1/Adjutant, |
8 | for the 28th Combat Support Hospital at Fort Bragg, and in other senior positions at Fort Hood, |
9 | Fort Lewis and the Office of the Surgeon General. She also served at Fort Bragg as the Secretary |
10 | to the General Staff, 44th Medical Command and as the G3 to the 44th Medical Command, and |
11 | as an Executive Officer with the 32nd Multifunctional Medical Battalion where she deployed in |
12 | support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF); and |
13 | WHEREAS, Colonel Aiello has held numerous commands throughout her distinguished |
14 | military career including serving as the Commander of Bravo Company, 28th Combat support |
15 | Hospital at Fort Bragg, Commander of Echo Company, 704th Division Support Battalion, 4th |
16 | Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Commander of the 56th Multifunctional Medical Battalion, 62nd |
17 | Medical Brigade, Joint Base Lewis McChord, and of the 10th Combat Support Hospital at Fort |
18 | Carson, where she deployed in support of Operations Spartan Shield and Inherent Resolve |
19 | (OSS/OIR). Most recently, Colonel Aiello served as the Commander of the 44th Medical |

1 | Brigade, where she deployed in support of the Covid-19 response to FEMA Regions I-IV/VI, and |
2 | led the Javits New York Medical Station DoD mission; and |
3 | WHEREAS, Colonel Aiello has received numerous awards in recognition of her |
4 | exemplary military career including the Legion of Merit Award with two Oak Leaf Clusters, the |
5 | Bronze Star, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, the Meritorious |
6 | Service Medal with four Oak Leaf Clusters, the Joint Army Commendation Medal, the Army |
7 | Commendation Medal with five Oak Leaf Clusters, the Army Achievement Medal with four Oak |
8 | Leaf Clusters, the Meritorious Unit Citation, the National Defense Service Medal, the Iraq |
9 | Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on |
10 | Terrorism Service Medal, the Armed Forces Service Medal, the Humanitarian Service Medal, the |
11 | Expert Field Medical Badge, the Parachutist Badge, and the German Parachutist Badge; and |
12 | WHEREAS, Colonel Aiello is also the recipient of the Order of Military Medical Merit |
13 | Award, the Army Medical Department of the United States Army’s (AMEDD) Proficiency |
14 | Designator Award, and is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). |
15 | She also holds a Master of Healthcare Administration from Baylor University, where she earned |
16 | the Boone Powell Research Award, and a Master of Strategic Studies from the Air War College. |
17 | She is married to Colonel Larry Aiello and they have two children, Nicholas and Hannah; now, |
18 | therefore be it |
19 | RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island hereby congratulates Colonel |
20 | Kimberlee Aiello on her retirement from the United States Army after twenty-nine years of |
21 | devoted and distinguished service to our nation. We furthermore wish her continued success in all |
22 | her future endeavors; and be it further |
23 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
24 | transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Colonel Kimberlee Aiello. |
