S E N A T E   R E S O L U T I O N

EXPRESSING DEEPEST CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF EDWARD J. MORGAN

     WHEREAS, It is with deepest sadness that this Senate has learned of the untimely

2

passing of Edward J. "Ted" Morgan, the beloved husband of the Honorable Rhode Island State

3

Senator Elaine Morgan, and a son of the late Henry and Lillian Morgan; and

4

     WHEREAS, Mr. Morgan was a 1986 graduate of Providence College and for the past

5

thirty years had served our state with integrity, dedication, and passion as a social worker with the

6

Rhode Island Department of Human Services, retiring in 2020, as a Supervisor; and

7

     WHEREAS, Mr. Morgan was an active member of the Providence College Alumni

8

Association and in his spare time, enjoyed playing guitar; and

9

     WHEREAS, Foremost in Mr. Morgan's life at all times was his cherished family. In

10

addition to his wife, he leaves behind his children, Samantha Oliveira and her husband, Brent

11

James, and Ian Morgan and his grandchildren, Levi and Noah James. He also leaves behind his

12

brother, Bradley Morgan and his wife, Patricia, and was the uncle of John Morgan and Michaela

13

Crimmins; and

14

     WHEREAS, Mr. Morgan was blessed with the total love of his family and the friendship

15

of many and he will be dearly missed; now, therefore be it

16

     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island hereby expresses its deepest

17

condolences to the Morgan Family on the passing of Edward Morgan; and be it further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

2

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to the Honorable Senator Elaine Morgan and

3

Family.
