RELATING TO MOTOR AND OTHER VEHICLES - REGISTRATION OF VEHICLES

     Introduced By: Senators Burke, Archambault, Lombardo, and Seveney

     It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

     SECTION 1. Section 31-3-11.1 of the General Laws in Chapter 31-3 entitled "Registration

of Vehicles" is hereby amended to read as follows:

     31-3-11.1. Permanent registration and plates.

     (a) Every vehicle owned by the state of Rhode Island, Civil Air Patrol and any fire

apparatus for which no fee is assessed shall be issued permanent registration and registration plates.

The permanent registration and plates shall remain on the vehicles to which they are assigned

without expiration until the vehicle is replaced or disposed of.

     (b) This section does not apply to certain vehicles owned by state law enforcement

agencies.

     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.

EXPLANATION

the Civil Air Patrol.

     This act would take effect upon passage.
