EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF GEOFFREY S. WESTON | |

1 | WHEREAS, It is with deep sadness that this Senate has learned of the passing of |
2 | Geoffrey S. Weston, the beloved husband to the love of his life, Virginia Weston, and the |
3 | cherished father of Melissa LaMontagne and her husband, Ernest, Heidi Rogers and her husband, |
4 | Gordon, Geoffrey Weston and his wife, Toni, and Todd Weston and his wife, Tracey; and |
5 | WHEREAS, Born in Providence, Mr. Weston was the son of the late Charles and Hazel |
6 | Weston, and the brother of Charles Weston and Candace Petrucci. He served our country with |
7 | honor in the United States Navy aboard the USS Sea Devil; and |
8 | WHEREAS, Mr. Weston had been employed as a machinist for numerous manufacturing |
9 | facilities in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts before opening his own business, Weston |
10 | Machine Co.; and |
11 | WHEREAS, Highly respected in his community, Mr. Weston served on the Smithfield |
12 | Town Council and was a member of the Smithfield Sportsman's Club. In addition, he enjoyed |
13 | hunting, fishing, bird watching, particularly the return of "his" ducks to the pond in his backyard |
14 | each spring, and spending summers at the ancestral home on the Oyster River in Chatham; and |
15 | WHEREAS, In addition to his wife and children, Mr. Weston was the very proud |
16 | "Grampy" to Jade, Jesse, Hayley, Elijah, Levi, Caleb, Sydnie, Braeden, Elizabeth and the late |
17 | Hunter Elizabeth LaMontagne, seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. |
18 | He was also the adored "dad" to the family's cat, Monterey Jack; and |
19 | WHEREAS, Geoffrey Weston was a wonderful father, grandfather, great-grandfather, |
20 | brother, uncle, and friend to many, and he will be dearly missed by the community and all who |

1 | knew and loved him; now, therefore be it |
2 | RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island hereby |
3 | extends deepest condolences on the passing of Geoffrey S. Weston; and be it further |
4 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
5 | transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Mrs. Virginia Weston. |
