THANKING ELIZABETH VORRO FOR HER THIRTY YEARS OF DISTINGUISHED | |
PUBLIC SERVICE WITH THE NATIONAL LABOR RELATIONS BOARD | |

1 | WHEREAS, Elizabeth A. "Beth" Vorro, of Bristol, Rhode Island, has been an attorney |
2 | with the National Labor Relations Board for thirty years, serving as the Rhode Island Resident |
3 | Agent; and |
4 | WHEREAS, Ms. Vorro has personified the Labor Board’s mission to safeguard |
5 | employees' rights to organize and bargain collectively, and to be free from unfair labor practices; |
6 | and |
7 | WHERERAS, Ms. Vorro has also been directly involved in many of Rhode Island's most |
8 | significant labor disputes as both a skillful attorney and as a voice of reason and compromise; and |
9 | WHEREAS, In addition to her professional obligations, Ms. Vorro has been a volunteer, |
10 | mentor, advocate, and leader in the battle for gender equality and LGBTQ+ rights; and |
11 | WHEREAS, After thirty years as a fighter for justice, Ms. Vorro has decided to retire |
12 | from the Labor Board and continue her work on behalf of our community as a private citizen; |
13 | now, therefore be it |
14 | RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island hereby |
15 | thanks and congratulates Elizabeth Vorro for her many years of service to the labor community |
16 | and her Rhode Island neighbors, and extends its best wishes for a well-earned retirement; and be |
17 | it further |
18 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
