H O U S E   R E S O L U T I O N

EXPRESSING DEEPEST CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF THE HONORABLE

JOSEPH EPIFANIO GALLUCCI

     WHEREAS, It is with sadness that this House has learned of the passing of the

Honorable Joseph Epifanio Gallucci, the loving husband of the late Maryann Ferruccio-Gallucci,

and the beloved father of Frank Gallucci and his wife, Ruth, Joseph Gallucci, PPD, and his wife,

Rosamaria, and Michael Ferruccio, RISP, and his wife, Jennifer; and

     WHEREAS, Born in in the City of Providence, Mr. Gallucci was a son of the late Joseph

and Angelina Gallucci and the brother of Raymond Gallucci and his wife, Carol. He was a

graduate of Lockwood High School, where he served as a Co-Captain of various High School

Sports teams, and continued his education, earning a Bachelor's degree from the University of

Rhode Island; and

     WHEREAS, Upon receiving his degree, Mr. Gallucci honorably served our country in

the United States Army National Guard, completing his service at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel;

and

     WHEREAS, A hard-working man, Mr. Gallucci was employed as the Regional

Marketing Manager for ITT General Controls for thirty-five years, until his retirement. Active in

the Democratic party, he was elected to serve on the Warwick City Council and as Director of

Elections in Warwick for sixteen years. In addition, he served as the State of Rhode Island Liquor

Control Commissioner and the Manager/President of the Continental Little League for fifteen

years; and

     WHEREAS, In addition to his wife and children, Mr. Gallucci was the very proud

grandfather of four grandchildren, Francesca Gallucci-Jenkins, Maria Gallucci, Joanna Gallucci,

and Joseph A. Gallucci, and the adoring caregiver of his pets, "Mikki", "Micki" and "Sami"; and

     WHEREAS, There is no doubt that Joseph Gallucci, an honest and steadfast gentleman,

left Rhode Island a better place because of his life’s endeavors. He enriched the lives of all who

knew him and his dedicated public service was an inspiration to us all; now, therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island hereby

extends deepest condolences on the passing of the Honorable Joseph Epifanio Gallucci; and be it

further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to Frank Gallucci and Family, Joseph Gallucci,

PPD, and Family, and Michael Ferruccio, RISP, and Family.
