EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF WILLIAM DOOLEY | |

1 | WHEREAS, William Dooley of Warwick passed away on January 31, 2021. He was the |
2 | devoted husband of the late Patricia Dooley to whom he was married for sixty-two years; and |
3 | WHEREAS, Mr. Dooley was born in Cranston, a son of the late Leo and Marion Dooley. |
4 | He served our nation with honor and valor during World War II as a member of the United States |
5 | Army’s 88th Division Blue Devils; and |
6 | WHEREAS, Mr. Dooley was a hard-working family man who strived daily to provide for |
7 | his family. He was employed by the New England Telephone Company for thirty-eight years |
8 | before retiring; and |
9 | WHEREAS, Mr. Dooley was very active in civic affairs. He served on the Warwick |
10 | Board of Canvassers, the Warwick Housing Authority, and was the former Chairman of the Ward |
11 | 1 Democratic Committee; and |
12 | WHEREAS, Mr. Dooley was a passionate fan of the Boston Red Sox, with an amazing |
13 | ability to recall specific games, players and statistics from the past. He was a communicant of |
14 | Saint Peter Church for over fifty years and a faithful Catholic his entire life; and |
15 | WHEREAS, Mr. Dooley is survived by his daughters, Patrice Concannon and her |
16 | husband, John, and Kathleen McCoombs, sons James Dooley and Bryan Dooley and his wife, |
17 | Gina. He was the brother of Leo Dooley and Kenneth Dooley. He was also the father of the late |
18 | William Dooley, brother of the late Eileen Drottz, John “Red” Dooley, Margaret Malone, |
19 | Lawrence Dooley, and Paul Dooley. He leaves behind six grandchildren, Evan Hutson, Alison |
20 | Hutson, Kellie Dooley, Jenna Dooley, Kayla McCoombs, and Benjamin McCoombs, five great- |

1 | grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews; now, therefore be it |
2 | RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island hereby |
3 | expresses its deepest condolences to the Dooley Family on the passing of William Dooley; and be |
4 | it further |
5 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
6 | transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to Patrice Concannon, Kathleen McCoombs, |
7 | James Dooley and Bryan Dooley. |
