EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF JEROME ANGELO SQUATRITO, | |

1 | WHEREAS, Jerome A. "Jerry" Squatrito, Jr., of Bristol, Rhode Island, passed away on |
2 | December 26, 2020. Mr. Squatrito was born in Fall River, Massachusetts, son of Anita and the |
3 | late Jerome A. Squatrito; and |
4 | WHEREAS, Jerry Squatrito, was a 1974 graduate of Bristol High School, where he |
5 | played baseball and was a member of the first ice hockey team at Bristol High School. He was |
6 | also a passionate fan of the Boston Red Sox and the Boston Bruins; and |
7 | WHEREAS, For the past twenty-seven years, Mr. Squatrito served the Rhode Island |
8 | House of Representatives with integrity and tireless devotion. Since 2004, he served as the |
9 | Supervisor for the State of Rhode Island, House of Representatives Veterans' Affairs Committee |
10 | where he offered invaluable insight on issues related to veterans. He was always available |
11 | whenever a veteran needed assistance; and |
12 | WHEREAS, Prior to his service with the Rhode Island General Assembly, he served in a |
13 | number of different positions including working at the Rhode Island Veterans Home, and serving |
14 | as a member of the Defiance Hose Co. with the Bristol Fire Department. He also served as the |
15 | Brown University Head Equipment manager for all varsity sports and later was the Zamboni/rink |
16 | operator for Providence College. Mr. Squatrito also was the owner of J. Fox Screen Printing and |
17 | Embroidery in Bristol; and |
18 | WHEREAS, Jerry Squatrito was beloved by his friends and colleagues at the State |
19 | House. He was a dedicated public servant who cared deeply about the people he served. More |

1 | importantly, he was a loving, kind and caring son and friend, someone who always brought |
2 | laughter and joy into the lives of others; and |
3 | WHEREAS, Besides his mother, Anita Squatrito, Jerome Squatrito, Jr., leaves behind his |
4 | uncle Raymond Tarantelli, many cousins, and his closest friends, the DeCastro Family, including |
5 | Leslie, her children Kara Estrella and husband, Thomas, James DeCastro Jr., and his wife, |
6 | Camblin, and Leslie’s grandchildren, Cole James Estrella and Kenzie Jade Estrella. He was |
7 | preceded in death by his sister, Dr. Geraldine Squatrito, DO; now, therefore be it |
8 | RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island hereby |
9 | expresses its deepest condolences to the Squatrito and DeCastro Families on the passing of |
10 | Jerome Angelo Squatrito, Jr.; and be it further |
11 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
12 | transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to Mrs. Anita Squatrito and Leslie DeCastro. |
