RECOGNIZING AND COMMENDING DANIEL GARNER, DANIEL KOYUTH, AND | |
JACOB STARBLE UPON ACHIEVING SCOUTING'S MOST DISTINGUISHED HONOR, | |
THE RANK OF EAGLE SCOUT | |

1 | WHEREAS, Scouting is a movement that challenges, inspires, and guides young men |
2 | toward higher achievements and values as expressed in the Scout oath, law, motto, and slogan; |
3 | and |
4 | WHEREAS, Earning an Eagle Scout Badge is the pinnacle of achievement with the Boy |
5 | Scouts of America and is an exceptional distinction achieved by very few of the young men who |
6 | enter scouting; and |
7 | WHEREAS, Daniel Garner, Daniel Koyuth and Jacob Starble, all members of Troop One |
8 | Coventry, each earned numerous merit badges and completed the final step toward obtaining the |
9 | Rank of Eagle Scout by planning and carrying out extensive Eagle service projects. They are |
10 | remarkable young men worthy of this prestigious achievement and their accomplishments are |
11 | truly deserving of our recognition; and |
12 | WHEREAS, Daniel Garner′s Eagle project involved cleaning up the Greenhouse at |
13 | Coventry High School and building new potting benches which made the space more organized |
14 | and easier to use; and |
15 | WHEREAS, Daniel Koyuth′s Eagle project involved clearing debris, trees, and an overall |
16 | general clean-up of the grounds of St. Vincent de Paul Church along with cleaning the windows |
17 | and bricks of the school adjacent to the church. This detailed project provided additional outdoor |
18 | space for the church and school; and |
19 | WHEREAS, Jacob Starble′s Eagle Project involved clearing an abandoned farm road and |

1 | turning it into a usable hiking path for the Nature Conservancy in West Greenwich, Rhode Island, |
2 | thereby enabling the Conservancy to open additional hiking paths to the public; and |
3 | WHEREAS, It is essential and fitting to recognize the triumphs of our youth and to |
4 | celebrate the accomplishments of our future leaders. Daniel Garner, Daniel Koyuth, and Jacob |
5 | Starble exemplify everything an Eagle Scout should be and all that we hope our children will |
6 | grow to be; now, therefore be it |
7 | RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and |
8 | Providence Plantations hereby congratulates Daniel Garner, Daniel Koyuth, and Jacob Starble for |
9 | all they have done to attain the rank of Eagle Scout. We furthermore extend our deepest |
10 | appreciation for their service to the community and for setting a high standard of commitment |
11 | and dedication by which the youth of this great state may follow. We moreover wish them much |
12 | happiness and the best of times at their Eagle Court of Honor on June 5, 2014; and be it further |
13 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
14 | transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to Daniel Garner, Daniel Koyuth, and Jacob |
15 | Starble. |
