WHEREAS, The Church of God, located in Peace Dale, was born out of a request made |
1-2 |
by the late Annie Potter during a revival meeting at Providence’s Salem Avenue Church of God, |
1-3 |
the place where she met Elder William W. White. Upon seeing a small, unused church on |

Kingston Road, Elder White consented to come from his hometown in Maryland to open the |

doors of the Church of God, Kingston, in September, 1928. For the next decade, W. W. White led |

the church, moving about the community on foot and carrying out a ministry of healing and |

evangelism which effectively influenced and impacted the lives of many; and |

1-15 |
that the peace of Jesus brings people of all ages, all races, and all backgrounds together into a |
1-16 |
single family; and |
1-17 |
WHEREAS, The eighty-five year history of ministry, leadership, and stewardship of the |
1-18 |
