     WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that this Senate has learned of the passing of Donald |
|

W. Miller, a man who was deeply devoted to his family. Born sixty-nine years ago in Pawtucket |
|

to the late Harold J. Miller, Sr., and Edelia A. (Marini), Donald was the beloved companion of |
|
1-4 |
Susan Lareau; and |
|
1-5 |
     WHEREAS, Our thoughts and hearts hold great empathy and sorrow for his family. We |
|
1-6 |
grieve with his children, Kendra L. Miller and Tyler Nugent Miller, his siblings, Edward M. |
|
1-7 |
Miller, Harold J. Miller, Jr., Dorothy C. Barrett, and Carolyn A. Albright, and his uncle, Edward |
|
1-8 |
Miller; and |
|
1-9 |
     WHEREAS, Over the years, Mr. Miller worked deliberately to improve his community, |
|
1-10 |
his state, and his nation. Donald served honorably for twenty-five years in the Rhode Island State |
|
1-11 |
Police as a Lieutenant before he retired in 1991. He was also a Vietnam Navy veteran; and |
|
1-12 |
     WHEREAS, Donald was passionately devoted to the New York Yankees and New York |
|
1-13 |
Giants. He also enjoyed golfing with his friends at various courses throughout Rhode Island; and |
|
1-14 |
     WHEREAS, Even though we are diminished by this loss and mourn the passing of |
|
1-15 |
Donald, so must we celebrate the spirit, generosity, and courage with which he lived every day of |
|
1-16 |
his life; now, therefore be it |
|
1-17 |
     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations |
|
1-18 |
hereby expresses our deepest sympathy to the family and many friends of Donald W. Miller. He |
|
1-19 |
will be truly missed; and be it further |
|
2-1 |
     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
|
2-2 |
transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to Kendra L. Miller, Tyler Nugent Miller, and |
|
2-3 |
Susan Lareau. |
