EXPRESSING SINCERE CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF ANGELO M. ACCIARDO | |

     WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that this Senate has learned of the passing of Angelo |
|

M. Acciardo, a man who was deeply devoted to his family. He was born eighty-seven years ago |
|
1-3 |
in Johnston to the late Angelo and Rose (DiLullo) Acciardo. Angelo was the husband of Ida |
|
1-4 |
(Russo) Acciardo for sixty-two wonderful years; and |
|
1-5 |
     WHEREAS, Our thoughts and hearts hold great empathy and sorrow for his family. We |
|
1-6 |
grieve with his children, A. Michael "Mickey" Acciardo and his wife, Melody, Paula Acciardo, |
|
1-7 |
and Joseph Acciardo. Angelo was also the cherished grandfather to Michael Acciardo and his |
|
1-8 |
wife, Ali, Mia Acciardo, Christopher Ballirano, and Joseph Acciardo, and was the brother to |
|
1-9 |
Vincent, Albert "Tuffy," Raymond, and Ernest Acciardo, Ann Corrente, Virginia Salzillo, and |
|
1-10 |
Rose Grasso; and |
|
1-11 |
     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his siblings, Thomas, Carl, Louis, Pasco, and |
|
1-12 |
Ralph Acciardo, and son, Steven Acciardo; and |
|
1-13 |
     WHEREAS, Angelo worked for Forest Hills Nursery before becoming co-owner of |
|
1-14 |
Acciardo Bros. Inc. and the owner of A. Acciardo Construction. He was a heavy equipment |
|
1-15 |
operator and a member of Local 57, since 1947, International Union of Operating Engineers, |
|
1-16 |
United Commercial Travelers (U.C.T), as well as a member of the Santa Maria di Prata Society in |
|
1-17 |
Cranston. He took great pride in his specialty as a Grader Operator; and |
|
1-18 |
     WHEREAS, Even though we are diminished by this loss and mourn the passing of |
|
1-19 |
Angelo, so must we celebrate the spirit, generosity, and courage with which he lived every day of |
|
1-20 |
his life; and |
|
2-21 |
     WHEREAS, A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Angelo M. |
|
2-22 |
Acciardo was especially proud of his children and grandchildren. He was a gentle man whose |
|
2-23 |
tremendous kindness will go on to serve as an inspiring legacy for others; now, therefore be it |
|
2-24 |
     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations |
|
2-25 |
hereby expresses our deepest sympathy to the family of Angelo M. Acciardo. He will be truly |
|
2-26 |
missed; and be it further |
|
2-27 |
     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
|
2-28 |
transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Mrs. Ida Acciardo. |
