CONGRATULATING IRENE V. HEROUX ON BEING NAMED THE 2013 | |

QUOTARIAN OF THE YEAR | |

     WHEREAS, The person named Quotarian of the Year is chosen because they exemplify |
|

the concepts and image of Quota International through their intrinsic knowledge of the |
|
1-3 |
organization and by demonstrating the munificent qualities of friendship, leadership, and service |
|
1-4 |
to the community. This year, Quota International of Woonsocket has chosen Irene V. Heroux as |
|
1-5 |
its 2013 Honoree; and |
|
1-6 |
     WHEREAS, Ms. Heroux, an active Quota member for the past thirteen years, has served |
|
1-7 |
on the organization’s Board of Directors, as well as in a number of other leadership positions and |
|
1-8 |
committees, including two years as treasurer, President-elect for a year, and President for three |
|
1-9 |
years. In addition, at the District level, she has served as Lt. Governor for two years and as |
|
1-10 |
District Governor for a two-year term. She has also chaired the Budget, Ways and Means and |
|
1-11 |
bylaws Committees, the 25-Week Club, and the Autumnfest and Summer Outing Committees, to |
|
1-12 |
name just a few; and |
|
1-13 |
     WHEREAS, A graduate of Woonsocket High School, Ms. Heroux continued her |
|
1-14 |
education by earning her associate’s degree from the Community College of Rhode Island. She |
|
1-15 |
was employed as an office manager for Coby Glass Co. for twenty-four years. In addition, she is |
|
1-16 |
a retired member of the Rhode Island National Guard; and |
|
1-17 |
     WHEREAS, Irene Heroux has also been an extremely active member of the Woonsocket |
|
1-18 |
community, serving in various capacities, including as a member of the Woonsocket Elks BPOE |
|
1-19 |
#805 for fifteen years, as a member of the Woonsocket Board of Tenant Affairs, and as a |
|
1-20 |
volunteer bartender at the Stadium Theatre; and |
|
2-1 |
     WHEREAS, In addition to her efforts on behalf of Quota International and the |
|
2-2 |
community, Ms. Heroux has been married to Ronald Heroux for twenty-three years. She is the |
|
2-3 |
mother of Alan Leclaire, the stepmother of Bruce, Michael, and Vickie Heroux, and the |
|
2-4 |
grandmother of eight beautiful grandchildren; and |
|
2-5 |
     WHEREAS, Ms. Heroux’s outstanding leadership qualities and her dedicated service to |
|
2-6 |
others have greatly benefitted the community and have earned her this award and our gratitude; |
|
2-7 |
now, therefore be it |
|
2-8 |
     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations |
|
2-9 |
hereby joins the family and friends of Irene V. Heroux in congratulating her on being named the |
|
2-10 |
2013 Quotarian of the Year. The entire membership extends best wishes for her continued |
|
2-11 |
success and happiness; and be it further |
|
2-12 |
     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
|
2-13 |
transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Irene V. Heroux. |
