CONGRATULATING THE NORTH PROVIDENCE HIGH SCHOOL LADY COUGARS

CHEERLEADING SQUAD ON WINNING THE 2013 INTERSCHOLASTIC LEAGUE TEAM

CHEERLEADING STATE CHAMPIONSHIP

     WHEREAS, The North Providence Lady Cougars Cheerleading Squad, after suffering a

disappointing second place finish in 2012, came back stronger and more dedicated than ever and

avenged that loss by winning the 2013 Medium Championship and posting the best score in the

1-4

state during the annual state cheering competition at the Providence Career and Technical Center;

1-5

and

1-6

     WHEREAS, The North Providence Lady Cougars, coached by John Ciolfi and his

1-7

brother Jesse Ciolfi, won in dominating fashion by amassing 194.8 points, easily outdistancing La

1-8

Salle Academy; and

1-9

     WHEREAS, Cheerleading is a grueling activity that requires a nine-month commitment

1-10

and practice sessions that last three hours, four times a week. However, the North Providence

1-11

Lady Cougars never wavered from their goal. They practiced endlessly and came together to

1-12

unify into a perfect team, with every member contributing significantly towards their desired

1-13

goal, a state championship; and

1-14

     WHEREAS, The members of the North Providence Cheerleading Squad are; Ariana

1-15

Beffre, Haley Blackinton, Taylor Boardman-Kelly, Lennita Brantley, Lindsey Cabral, Jordan

1-16

Cesana, Brianna Cicerone, Giavana Ciolfi, Gianna Comparone, Ariadne Davis, Talia DiGiulio,

Ashley Fortes, Karyssa Gomes, Tori-Lynn Gould, Ivy Hagenburg, Brittany Kane, Bethanie

Lacroix, Sierra LaLiberte, Taylor Levin, Alexandra Lima, Kaycee Martin, Nicole Matearese,

Amanda Morrissey, Sarannah Patterson, and Sara Samoorian; now, therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island hereby congratulates the

2-21

North Providence High School Lady Cougars Cheerleading Squad on winning the 2013

2-22

Interscholastic League Team Cheerleading State Championship; and be it further

2-23

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

2-24

transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to John Ciolfi and Jesse Ciolfi.
